About Us

Don and Mary Lynn Case have been married for 37 years. They have two children, a son living in Texas and a daughter living in Pennsylvania, and two grandsons. Mary Lynn is the author of Through The Fire, which is in its second printing.

The book chronicles the experiences that the Cases have had with cancer. They both had a sister diagnosed with this dread disease, and later both of the Cases also heard the same diagnosis. Mary Lynn presents their journeys from both viewpoints of both patient and caregiver. She presents both practical and spiritual encouragement for those facing the unknown outcome of a dire diagnosis.

Mary Lynn was raised in Electra, Texas, and graduated from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. She taught English for 30 years in secondary schools. An avid reader, Mary Lynn enjoys traveling and playing the piano. She is passionate about teaching and encouraging people - especially younger women - in the Lord.

Some of Mary Lynn’s past involvements have included sponsoring the Red Cross Youth, teaching at a sheltered workshop (for mentally handicapped adults) and helping with Special Olympics. In Pampa she ministered to and counseled women through the jail ministry, Bible studies and at a Crisis Pregnancy Center. While on staff at Son Shine Ministries in Azle, Texas, Mary Lynn directed the correspondence courses, primarily to people incarcerated in prison.

  Don Case

Don was raised as an Army brat and served four years in the Air Force himself. Other highlights of Don’s work experience include the following: 25 years in wholesale food sales, seven years as a plant operator for Cabot Corporation, 6 years as Administrative Pastor with Trinity Fellowship Church in Pampa, Texas, 2 years as a
missionary with Son Shine Ministries in Azle, Texas. He is currently serving as chaplain with The Estates on Lake Granbury (an independent retirement facility) in Granbury, Texas.

In the past Don has worked with Pampa Sheltered Workshop (for the mentally handicapped adults) as well as participating in the Special Olympics as a coach. Don served briefly as a chaplain for Hospice of the Texas Panhandle. He oversaw an outreach center that ministered to people in need of food, counseling and /or financial assistance.

Don and Mary Lynn are enjoying their retirement home, situated in the pecan orchards of Pecan Plantation, located just outside of Granbury, Texas. The deer are a common sight almost any time of the day, and birds of every type flock to the feeders and raise their young in the many bird houses Don has built. The Brazos River flows lazily around the plantation, and city lights are too far away to interfere with the beautiful night sky.
